In the planning stages for a new Solar Panel and planning to get SEGMeter to monitor where our solar energy is applied.
Looking at our current fuse box I notice a number of multiphase circuits. Is there a way to monitor these without each using multiple SEGMeter input channels ?
Eg the Air Conditioner is a 3 phase system and has seems to have three different circuits. Should the Electrician expect to find a single consolidated cable I can match to a single Segmeter input, or will this require three individual inputs ? (FYI at this stage I would like to monitor the AC as a Single unit, not looking to separate compressor from condenser.
Similarly for the main feed to the house, there are three separate feeders, which our current Centimetre monitor separately. Is there a way I can track them together as a single input channel ?
Thanks

Hey,
its necessary to have a sensor on each phase and they cant all be bunched through one sensor because of the phase variation cancels the measurements resulting in a zero reading!
SEGmeter has code to allow phases to be grouped up together so the measurements for phase 1, 2, 3 etc can be summed as a single output.

That makes sense.
So, good news for you, now I'm very interested in the shiny new Red SEGMeter v2. How far away is that optional expansion board and Dragino ?

It's very close, some tweaks for 2.1 which will be the beta!
