About Me

My name is: Chad Ringström

Hello.

I have a strong love for technology, unfortunately, I think technology has started to get the better half of my power consumtion.

I have joined this group as a sort of blog to track my progress towards consuming less energy.

I am  currently using a Brultech GreenEye (GEM) Monitoring device along with a ISY-994IZ that comunicate over zigbee.

The GEM also has the ethernet option installed, to go to this website.

I built a small proof of concept solar system (2 x 100 watt Mono Panels) I like what I saw, so I am in the progress of building a larger system.

I have just finished building a solar pergola.

It currently consists of 9 x 230 Watt Canadian Solar panels. only 2 of them are hooked up right now to a Rogue 30A charge controller.

I have misc LED lighting that comes off the attached 100AH AGM Battery.

The Goal will be to have it go through a SMA Sunnyboy Grid Tie String inverter with power outtage outlet, or outback Grid interactive system such as a Radian.

That's it for now!

-Chad

Note: Personal Reminder: SMA Sunnyboy 4000TL-US 4000 watt grid tie inverter commissioned at 7:30 AM on Friday, April the 19th, 2014 running off 9 x 230 watt/30V Canadian Solar panels.

Sam at SEG recommends a 45 second update interval or longer. Lower intervals will work, but you will be creating far more data than you need but losing accuracy because of rounding errors on the shorter interval.   You can go higher than 45 since the GEM accumulates the data prior to the api send to SEG.

tnakelsk,

I just updated my GEM com FW and confirmed that it is set to reset wh.

I have made sure my packet timeing is 15 seconds and I have set my watt hours packet reset time to 15 seconds as well.

We will see how that works.

Hey chadodes, looking at your public dashboard I can't help but notice that it looks like you're almost up to using a megawatt of power in just one day. I'm hoping that you have something amiss in your dashboard setting or in your GEM settings.

Maybe you are not reseting the counter on the GEM after sending data to SEG?
