I'm just setting up my Green Eye Monitor but am having trouble getting the disocvery process to work.

The API trace is showing packets like these coming in:

(site *My Actual Token* (node Home ? (e_1 -4974.97)(p_1 -2426)(e_2 -16955.51)(p_2 -1853)(e_3 155.98)(p_3 18)(voltage 122.7)))

Then the Discovery will say:  "A win discovering Home!" and then "Great stuff! Your site is connected ...now setting up your devices and their data streams."

If at that point I click the "finish the discovery" button it says "oh, oh. Seems like we didn't find any devices... try again?" and if I just wait it eventually says that as well.

What's the recommended packet send interval?

Thanks!

Hey kkemp,

Some fail was found and converted to win in the discovery mechanisms.

Try again, and report back in this thread!

Thanks,

Sam @samotage

It was all win this time! I added the rest of the channels and it detected them all. Thanks for the insanely quick fix and the awesome site. The pure number of gadgets is daunting :)

Hey ddoc,

It seemed there was some interesting issues with the test and discovery... They have been sorted and the API test should create a device when sent to the API now and the site is in Discovery mode.

Post back here to let me know how you get on!

All the setup steps worked perfectly but cannot get a successful discover though the API check appears to work. Am I missing something?

(site 6fdf3adfebf8db7 (node testing ? (p_1 567.00)(e_1 2.70)(p_2 402.00)(e_2 2.2)))

Hi,

Are you making sure you are initiating the discovery against the same IP address of the Brultech device sending the data?

This is important as IP matching is used ;)

Thanks,
Sam.

Note, the API Trace does some IP manipulation to work, so a work around is to take a full message and send this to the API via the API trace tool while in discovery.

Thanks but I guess this is over my head. I have used my router external address and have port forwarding for the the specific local port of my GEM. Is this not correct?
