Hey Folks.

Looks like my calculations have been down since Sept 11th. I've reached out to Sam at two different times this year but haven't heard back. Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in the process of packing up my data this week before my current subscription runs out (It's been a good 5 years, 3 of them as a paid user). This is unfortunate as I really like the service, but have doubts of its future.

I'm assuming there aren't too many of us left from the lack of activity here in the forums?

Hi there,

this is a bit of a long shot, but I'm wondering if you (or anyone else) figured out how to reprogram the SEGmeter units to commuicate directly to a local HASS IO or Emoncms server?

I have 2 of these board collecting dust, I moved house (indeed moved from the UK to Melbourne) and never got round to setting them back up (and to be fair was never keen on someone else hosting my data).

I think the units or great and probably can be reprogrammed to behave in simillar way to the IoTaWatt boards, but just need to figure out away to send the data streams to non SEG cloud server...

If anyone got any advice (even how you can load new sketches to an existing SEGmeter 2.5 board), I'd most greatful..

Hi Laurie, the source code is available at https://github.com/samotage/Aiko

I'm not sure how to reprogram the AIKO firmware, and have no experience with HASS or Emoncms.. but this is my guess on where to start -

Hi Dargs,

many thanks for the info, I had clocked the AIKO firmware in Github, I was hoping I could tweak the code to point to a MTTQ instance or even directly into HASS IO.

at this stage I'm stuck at getting anything out of the SEGmeter board via a serial link, I've connected up a serial link using a  FTDI serial cable and when I plug it into to the USB port on the PC the SEGmeter board powers up, and I get a regular blinking orange light.. but if I try open a serial connection using Putty (9600 baud) or using arduino serial monitor, I see zero output...   which is a bit baffling because I see scrips on the paired Dragino board (with is the network router) that suggest it's taking the serial output and pushing it on to the smartenergygroups web site...

any ideas how I can monitor / program the SEGmeter board using the serial interface?

Have you tried 38400 buad? The code that runs on the segmeter/arduinos in github shows

serial.begin(38400)
