Saw this interesting presentation/panel on the Perth Linux Users Group page

Fast forward to around 1h20m, the issue of power consumption of the Network Termination Device that will be supplied and that requires powering from within the house gets talked about. The person asking the question talks about saving watts of power.. and they say the NTD uses approx 10w. Seems about the same as my current ADSL/Wifi/VOIP device.
Also talks about the battery backup Sealed-Lead-Acid Battery device...
