Topic: Getting Started / Making Dashboard Tabs Public?

So I have a public dashboard here:

https://smartenergygroups.com/groups/wineyard

But only the first tab seems available to the public, the other two require you to log in. I've trawled through all the settigns I can find, but nothing seems to indicate how you control this.

Any suggestions?

Topic: Smart Energy - In the home / Increase the consumption from your own photovoltaic plant

Storage solutions are expensive, but this solution it's match more simpler and not expensive. The energy manager will work with the most devices each other. We had a simple and versatile idea to overcome this problem that you might be interested in. We would like to share this solution with the communities and therefore have launched it on kickstarter recently. We would love your feedback and hopefully this is something that you feel similarly about.

Have a look on it https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1983254852...

Topic: Getting Started / GST for out of country accounts

Hi,

I don't think you were denied acces to your account, I have checked and it seems all good.

This issue has been addressed, and your invoices have been re-generated.

Thanks,

Sam.

Did SEG go down around 7 pm EST?

I can't find anything wrong at my end and the API trace was showing seg internal errors.

Topic: SEGmeter / What Data Type?

No reason, I changed the flow rate to L/min.  Makes sense.

You have values of 80 or so coming in?  Send the raw values as 80,000 and you should have win.  You could also set up a 1000 multiplier on the calibration and do a re-calibration of the stream.  That will fix it easy on the SEG side.

Also, chaning my moisture data type from hPa to kPa seems to have broken the graphs - the real time is now a flat line, and the bunch of days won't work at all.

Thanks for that. Any particular reason for litres per second rather than per mintue?

Alrighty then!

Three new stream types and their associated units.

Flow Rate, L/sec

Heightm, m

Pressure, Pa (add a kilo prefix to get kPa)

Hope this works!

Change the stream types over, and hit up a re-calculate on them and all should be win!

Hmm. That reply had numbered points. but the formatting seems to have fallen off...

OK

  1. Flow rate - litres per minute - purely interested in the specific rate - summing or averaging this date isn't meaningful
  2. Bore Level - metres - I've just changed the data type to "Tank Level" and this is showing up better, although the past data still appears summed.
  3. Soil Moisture Tension - kPa - a measure of how hard a plant has to suck to get water out of the soil. 20kPa means wet soil, 200kPa means dry. Currently using hPa and seems to work OK.

So I think I'm OK for 2 & 3 except for the summing of old data in 2.

Hey Rusty Amps,

Post up your specific units, together with what you expect them to do in point form and I will let you know what to use, and or add some new unit types.

Let me know!

Thanks,

Sam, @samotage

Topic: SEGmeter / What Data Type?

So in addition to logging power use, I also track a bunch of irrigation stuff. What is of interest is flow rates, and bore level - the former is good for picking up broken pipes, the latter is good for tracking the health of the aquifer.

Currently I use the Real Time graphs, but have recently discovered "A Bunch of Days" which is better, as it's useful to look across a week or a month to see trends. However, with this latter graph, I'm finding my rates and levels being summed, which means the data isn't that meaningful, however, the Tank % data is not summed, which is the behaviour I'm after.

So for flow rate (in litres per minute, typically from 20 to 300), what's the best data type to use? Similarly, what shoudl I use for aquifer level (typically -11m to -50m) so that it shows un-summed or averaged in the Bunch of Days graph?

Topic: Energy efficient products / Energy Manager for solar installation and home automation

There is a great new product that I’ve found. There is a project on Kickstarter featuring a fully compatible Energy Manager.

You do not need expensive solar storage tanks and can consume more of your own solar energy

Here is the link for the kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1983254852/emdo-can-do-your-energy-manager-for-renewable-ener

There’s also a film I find really cool at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHlItGTYA9s

Topic: SEGmeter / Configuring Data Rates to work with the new pricing plans ?

Hey Randy,

Your data rates are controlled by your SEGbox, there is a post earlier in this thread that shows how to adjust them.  All streams will run at the same rate, until some time a new better SEGbox codeline is written!

Your DC streams are normal streams.

All streams with data in them are considered billable.  To achieve this, you can set them inactive and then clear the data - this way the won't be updated, nor will they be billed.

Hope this helps!

Topic: SEGmeter / Configuring Data Rates to work with the new pricing plans ?

Aloha Sam.

A few questions about my system, some specific, some generic:

1- how do I use the SEG online inteface ( https://smartenergygroups.com/streams) to set individual data rates for specific streams? some I don't need to read often, others I do...

2- Do you consider my DC power streams to be calculated from a billing perspective?

3- Is there a way to make streams inactive from a data collect / billing standpoint, yet still configured? I would like to fit into one of the standard plans by inactivizing some of my streams, yet if I find I need to monitor such a stream I would swap if for a currently active stream. Can I do that with the billing system, and if so, how?

Enjoy the holidays - Randy

Topic: Getting Started / How to Backup my data?

Hi Greg you should be able to now get to the streams page.

The Dashboards are a premium feature, and you need to be compliant with the terms you accepted to access it, which includes a complete account.

Unfortunately, I can't get to my dashboard or to my streams.  I keep being redirected to the account page where I'm forced to enter a credit card number.

Topic: Getting Started / How to Backup my data?

Yes, indeed.  There are a number of ways to do this.

1.  Use the dashboard gadget which will allow you to download data to a file for multiple streams

2.  Go to the Excahange tab of your streams and you can download data to a file

3.  Use the API https://smartenergygroups.com/api and you can automate it.

The above complies with the portability policy.
